Do I have
to submit to a
chemical test on
the roadside?

The PBT is an investigatory tool for police officers, and the results are generally not admissible in court. The penalty for refusal is $100 plus court costs. Persons under age 21 will also haveing two (2) points added to their driving record. Since the reading obtained on the PBT is often the officer’s sole reason for placing you under arrest, you should REFUSE this test.
